Invisalign Palatal Expander (IPE)
An Invisalign Palatal Expander (IPE) is a custom-fit, 3-D printed, removable device that fits over the upper teeth and rests against the roof of the mouth to gently widen a child’s upper jaw. It uses a series of slightly different expanders to apply light, steady pressure, creating more room for crowded teeth and helping correct cross bites and narrow arches. The IPE is typically worn most of the day and night, and kids can speak, eat, and smile with it in place once they adjust.
